Norwegian snow crab with Spanish flavours

The sweet snow crab meat perfectly pairs with Spanish flavours such as baked peppers and olives. Perfect as a starter or as a tapas dish!

  • Set the oven to 175 °C.
  • Remove the seeds from the bell peppers and cut them in strips. Peel the garlic cloves, add them to a ovenproof dish with the oil and bake for 8 minutes. Add the bell pepper and bake until tender, ca. 10 minutes.
  • Cut the snow crab legs into pieces at the joints, then cut the pieces in half lengthwise so that the meat is exposed. Use either a sharp knife with some weight in it, or sharp scissors. Place the pieces of snow crab on a baking tray with the meat facing up.
  • Turn the oven up to 200 °C. 
  • Finely chop the garlic and thyme, and process it smooth in a blender with room temperature butter, paprika powder and pepper.
  • Lather the herb butter over the snow crab meat and cook in the oven for 5 minutes.
  • Serve the snow crab with baked bell peppers, bread and green olives.

Tips: Feel free to put the herb butter that is left on the baking tray in a bowl, and serve it on the side to dip the crab in.
